I wish I could show you,
When you are lonely or in darkness,
The astonishing Light
Of your own Being!
You are a seeker.
You feel the nudge of Spirit calling to your heart.
You *know* you are more than this physical body.
And yet you feel this awkward push/pull - both wanting to dive into practices that feed and strengthen that knowing - and avoiding them like the plague because "Whoa, scary!".
So, you have been meaning to set aside time each day to meditate, but somehow it just never seems to happen consistently.
Sound like anyone you know?
::raises her hand::
You are not alone.
Having a consistent meditation practice is really vital to cultivating a deeper connection with Source/God/Divine/Presence/The One.
And yet we resist.
And yet we want it with all our heart.
And we know it is time to commit to our meditation practice. (Me too!)
Because these times call for us to be our most connected, centered, and radiant selves so that we can navigate the world and maybe even light the way for others.
I know I work better with support and encouragement and accountability - and sometimes a bit of fierce truth telling from a small circle of folks I trust and admire.
This is especially true for me with the practices that I *know* will open me to deeper aspects of myself - like daily meditation.
Used to be that I would try to just go it alone and muscle through. That doesn't work so well for me. I'd get through a day or two or 10 and then drop out. And kick myself for not following through.
And while in the end I am the only one responsible for what I choose to commit to, having folks to lean on, having a gaggle of peeps counting on me and reminding me of the value of these practices is what gets me moving in the right direction.
Because honestly? Knowing that there are others who are expecting me to show up for myself inspires me to do so, even when I'd rather not. Sometimes having made that commitment to the group is the *only* thing that helps me overcome the internal resistance.
Sound familiar? I bet that's the case for many of us.
That's why I created "Sit Down. Shut Up. SHINE!"
If, like me, you appreciate having a group supporting your daily practices and meditation has been calling you, I'd love to have you. join us for this next round, beginning on July 9, 2017.
Wondering how it will all work?
We will begin this round on Sunday, July 9, 2017.
We'll gather and share and SHINE! and hold each other accountable during the 40-days in a secret Facebook group.
I'll be suggesting a different type of meditation than you might be used to. The invitation will be to sit still and pay deep attention to your own radiance for 20-minutes each and every day for 40-days.
This particular meditation practice isn’t only about letting go of thoughts and coming back to center.
It is also an invitation to consciously, purposely, devotedly, doggedly touch the Truth of who you are and beam that out. To know the power and possibility you contain and *OWN* it.
I'll offer some guidelines on how to approach this variety of meditation and you'll do your practice each day at whatever time works for you - and then let us know how it went in our secret gathering place on Facebook.
And I'll throw some fierce truth telling about your brilliance in there along the way. (Pretty much guaranteed that the words of Hafiz will show up a bajillion times...)
Plus, you'll have the option to receive daily texts to remind you to meditate and SHINE!
So, it is all very simple.
Each day for 40-days you will:
[Sit Down.] Take 20-minutes (whenever is best for you) to sit your butt in the chair or on the cushion.
[Shut Up.] Quiet your mind and ignore that pesky inner dialogue that tells lies about who you Truly are.
[SHINE!] Focus on that place within you where you are most aware of your radiant light, your brilliance, your spark, your True Identity and invite it to expand.
And you'll have a gaggle of brilliant seekers holding space for you all along the way.
Ready to commit to "Sit Down. Shut up. SHINE!"? Let's do this!
